EuroCham Sustainability Awards - A Celebration to Pull Forward in Small Steps

Inspirational speeches, heart-warming performances and great conversations on our table and across the room! This was this years EuroCham Sustainability Awards Gala.

As with any change, climate action seems to be daunting. Though every small step counts. Let's get inspired; let's inspire others with our stories!

Thank you, SwissCham Singapore, for your support and engagement. Looking forward to more and deeper collaboration in the New Year!

Find here the official summary from SwissCham:
Members of SwissCham Singapore participated at the Sustainability Awards Gala organised by the European Chamber of Commerce, Singapore (EuroCham Singapore) which was attended by the guest of honour Ms Grace Fu, Minister for #Sustainability and the Environment delivering an insightful keynote speech. The program included opening remarks by Mr Federico Donato, President of EuroCham, and Her Excellency Iwona Piórko, Ambassador of the European Union to Singapore, and was enriched by contributions from Green Drumming and students of the German European School Singapore.

Key messages during the evening were that collaboration will drive the success of sustainable programs; for example between the governments of Singapore and Europe and the strong involvement of the business community. Decarbonisation is a strong focus and every company - large and small - needs to contribute. Singapore has the plan to increase the carbon tax to 80 dollars by 2030 to achieve its ambitious net zero carbon target. This will only be possible with technology that is not available today. Innovation, regional exchange, close engagement with employees, customers and suppliers will be key drivers for success.

Ms Grace Fu closed her keynote by encouraging all companies to set their air conditioning to 25 degrees. Every small step counts and contributes to our collective target.

SwissCham is also proud to have contributed to the Sustainability Whitebook 2022-2023 which was launched at the event.
