How is your leadership driving innovation? APAC experts shared their insights!
Together with TTIP we have launched the Innovation Forum in APAC. The first session was all about the Role of Leadership in Innovation. After an insightful presentation from Maurits van Tol, the almost 20 participants discussed in groups their experiences and insights; here are the key insights:
- The foundation to an innovative culture in an organisation is a focus on relationships on all levels; a good understanding of the specialities, passions and experiences of our peers is essential to know whom to approach for specific topics.
- Innovation happens across the organisation and diverse groups of people are required; that's why cross-functional collaboration is ubiquitous in successful organisation.
- Innovation requires creativity and long-term thinking; frequently stepping back and reflecting allows us to look at the big picture and make the right decisions for the changes ahead of us.
- Innovation is based on shared dreams and a collective vision; this will join all efforts together towards the same direction.
- Innovation leaders need to close the gap between short-term and long-term thinking; this demands resilience and strength.
